Will accelerating quickly in my electric car hurt the electric motor? I know that in a gas car, revving up the engine increases wear and hurts reliability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the great additional benefits of an electric car over a gas car is the amazing reliability and durability of its electric motors. The electric motors found in almost all electric cars are relatively mechanically simple, very efficient, and have few moving parts.
