{"id":8890,"date":"2017-06-05T13:33:30","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T20:33:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pluginamerica.org\/?p=8890"},"modified":"2023-03-07T13:01:27","modified_gmt":"2023-03-07T18:01:27","slug":"southern-california-edison-offers-450-rebate-for-ev-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pluginamerica.org\/southern-california-edison-offers-450-rebate-for-ev-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Southern California Edison Offers $450 Rebate for EV Drivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an effort to put more plug-in cars on the road and help fight climate change, Southern California Edison is now offering a $450 rebate for its EV-driving customers.\u00a0 This new incentive is available to SCE customers who own or are leasing a plug-in electric vehicle, and is issued on a per-car basis.\u00a0 In other words, if you happen to own two plug-in cars, then you can apply for two $450 rebates, for a total of $900, and there is no limit on the number of rebates per household.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re an SCE customer, head on over to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scecleanfuel.com\/\">scecleanfuel.com<\/a> to apply for your rebate.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll have to create an account there, and make sure to have your Service Account Number (located at the top of your SCE bill) ready for your rebate application.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll also need each vehicle&#8217;s VIN as well as a copy of the permanent registration for each vehicle.\u00a0 After submitting, you&#8217;ll receive a confirmation email after SCE has reviewed and accepted your application, and a check will follow in the mail in 10-12 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Each vehicle is also able to claim this rebate up to three times (each under new owners), so if you claim your $450 rebate and then sell your vehicle, not only can your car&#8217;s new owner claim a $450 rebate, but the owner after that as well.\u00a0 So if you&#8217;re in the market for a used EV (resource page on buying a used EV coming soon!) and you live in SCE territory, chances are you will qualify for this rebate.\u00a0 This rebate is an excellent opportunity for EV owners to pick up a level two charger (or two) for their home at essentially no cost.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In other words, if you happen to own two plug-in cars, then you can apply for two $450 rebates, for a total of $900, and there is no limit on the number of rebates per household.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to this rebate, SCE&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edison.com\/home\/our-perspective\/charge-ready-a-plan-for-california.html\">Charge Ready<\/a> pilot program has the goal of expanding the number of electric vehicle charging stations within SCE&#8217;s territory.\u00a0 SCE plans to spend $22 million to install over one thousand chargers in locations where cars are parked for extended periods of time, with the first recently installed and operational in Lynwood at Lynwood City Hall this past Earth Day.\u00a0 SCE expects to <a href=\"https:\/\/chargeready.sce.com\/(S(oe4lqd4zb1oxqwppvmpzp3h2))\/Default.aspx\">eventually install<\/a> over 30,000 electric vehicle chargers.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8898\" style=\"width: 774px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8898\" class=\"wp-image-8898 \" src=\"https:\/\/pluginamerica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMG_6286-1-300x269.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"774\" height=\"694\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-8898\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lynwood residents in SoCal Edison territory enjoyed an Earth Day event which included test drives of electric cars, April 2017.
