Plug In America, the Sierra Club, the Electrification Coalition, and Forth released two national guides designed to accelerate the switch to clean, electric vehicles (EVs) and e-mobility in an effective and equitable way by providing various stakeholders with model policies at the state, local, and utility levels. <\/span><\/p>\n This year\u2019s resources are separated into two separate guides: <\/span>Solutions for Expanding EV Charging<\/a><\/span> and <\/span>Solutions for Expanding Equitable Access to EVs and E-Mobility<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The guides show the power of state leadership for clean transportation, highlighting several detailed examples from locations across the nation where policies have had a stellar track record.<\/span><\/p>\n The 5.0 version of<\/a> AchiEVe: Model Policies to Accelerate Electric Vehicle Adoption<\/a> launched in January 2023 shows the power of bold and strategic policies for vehicle electrification, highlighting several detailed examples from locations across the nation where policies are working. In addition to the information on state and local EV policies, the toolkit has a section focused on the billions of dollars in funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA); tribal governments, micro-mobility; and state and national parks.<\/p>\n The\u00a04.0 version of the AchiEVe: Transition to EVs Policy Toolkit,<\/a> launched in August 2020, is the most comprehensive menu of EV policy options available. The toolkit details the policies that all stakeholders should look to adopt, including Governor\u2019s offices, state agencies, transit agencies, businesses, cities & local governments, utilities & their regulators, and community leaders. The 4.0 version of the toolkit includes an even broader menu of policy options, such as policies for battery recycling programs, solutions to dealer training on EVs, more equity-focused programs, and much more. The 4.0 version of the toolkit is a collaboration between Plug In America, the Sierra Club, the Electrification Coalition and Forth.<\/p>\n In September 2019, Plug In America and the Sierra Club launched the\u00a03.0 version of the AchiEVe: Transition to EVs Policy Toolkit<\/a>. The 3.0 version includes updated policies and best practices, and new sections on used EV incentives and ride-share EV programs.<\/p>\n In June 2018, Plug In America and the Sierra Club launched the\u00a02.0 version of the AchiEVe: Transition to EVs Policy Toolkit<\/a>. This version updates the best practice policies from the 1.0 version, and includes brand new sections on expanding access to charging stations, expanding equity and access, and promoting consumer education and protection. Templates for specific policies are also provided, where appropriate, to assist EV advocates in adopting and implementing the policy.<\/p>\n The\u00a0AchiEVe: Transition to EVs Policy Toolkit<\/strong>\u00a0provides examples of states and cities with these effective policies. In order to build an electric future today, a template for each of these seven policies is also linked within the document that can be downloaded and modified to fit the precise needs for a particular state or community. These templates are based on the current best practice for that particular policy.<\/p>\n As the EV market and EV policy evolves, this toolkit will be updated to continually reflect the best practices for EV policy.<\/p>\n
